Our Vision

We are a work in progress, but are steadily working to live into our vision. Our goal is that everyone who comes through the doors at Old South would have the opportunity to be welcomed and welcome others, experience God through worship and relationships, be transformed by the Holy Spirit and in life-changing small groups, and transform the lives of others, bringing about justice in our community and world.

If you’re looking for a perfect church or a perfect pastor,
I’m sorry, we can’t help you.
There is no perfect church and there is no perfect pastor.

But if you’re looking for a community where you can have a
sense of belonging; come.
If you’re looking for people with whom you can seek God,
and be sought by God; come.
If you’re looking to follow Jesus with other people who are trying
to follow Jesus; come.
If you would like to do the work of God
and make this place a more compassionate,
more just, more inclusive community; come.
If you would like to make a joyful noise unto the Lord,
there are many great musicians here who would love to make music with you.
If you’re not sure about Jesus, or not sure about Christians or Christianity,
you are welcome here.

No matter where you are on your faith journey,
no matter your age, race, gender, orientation, or ethnicity
no matter your religious or political affiliation,
no matter your financial or social status,
you are a child of God and you are welcome at Old South United Methodist Church.

Because here at Old South, we believe that
The Lord is still speaking to us today
The spirit is working through us
And the love that you encounter here is contagious
