Sunday School — 9am-9:50 (September through May)
Our “middlers” class (grades 5-7) meets at 9:45 in the vestry for donuts. At 10:00 they either go up to worship together or have Sunday school, alternating weeks. High schoolers (grades 8-12) have the option of attending worship or meeting with Jim & Chris for Sunday school in the youth room.
Youth in grades 8 through 12 are invited into a year-long journey to explore faith together, learning about what it means to be a United Methodist, and deciding whether or not to confirm the vows taken on their behalf in infant baptism. Our next class will begin in Fall 2017. It will meet on and off throughout the school year, in three sessions comprised of four weekly meetings culminating in a weekend retreat. Contact Rev. Carol for details.
Our teens get pumped up about transforming the world. From raking leaves for the elderly, to sorting toys at Lazarus House, and even hauling buckets of sand in Honduras, there are plenty of opportunities for youth to be involved in service throughout the year.
All youth in grades 6-12 who enjoy making music are encouraged to participate in the worship service. We get together to rehearse as needed, and play music in church about once a quarter. Contact Pastor Carol or Susan Holloway.
Youth in grades 4 through 8 are invited to join our acolyte program, where they will learn to light the candles, assist with offering and sacraments, and enjoy regular gatherings for fellowship and fun. Current acolytes can click the link above to see the schedule.
We get together about once a month for youth events for fellowship and growing in our faith. Some of our recent youth events include: service projects, laser tag, hunger weekend.
